The Best Paleo Turkey Chili

Hands down this is the best paleo turkey chili I've ever tasted and one of my all time favorite clean eating recipes. This recipe is quick and easy, very healthy, paleo (you won't even miss the beans), and perfect for meal prepping as it makes a big batch that can be enjoyed all week long!

I love making a big batch of chili ahead of time for the week, but this recipe is easy enough that you could instead prepare on a weeknight and you'll still have plenty of leftovers. Just chop up all your veggies, brown some lean ground turkey, and let the flavors simmer together until ready to eat.

The Best Paleo Turkey Chili

1 pound ground turkey
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 brown onion, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, diced in large chunks
1 green bell pepper, diced in large chunks
1 pasilla pepper, diced in large chunks
3 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp cumin
1 Tbsp ground coriander
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp sea salt
1 Tbsp tomato paste
1 (28 oz.) can diced tomatoes *I prefer fireroasted diced tomatoes for extra flavor
Garnish: Fresh cilantro, chopped green onions, sliced avocado, lime wedges

1. Drizzle 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large Dutch oven. Add ground turkey, crumble with a spoon until brown. Remove ground turkey with a slotted spoon to a plate or bowl.
2. Drizzle 1 tablespoon olive oil in the Dutch oven. Add chopped onion, jalapeno and garlic. Saute until soft and fragrant. Add remaining diced peppers and saute until soft.
3. Return the browned turkey to the Dutch oven and stir together. Add all spices and tomato paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add diced tomatoes. Stir all ingredients together. Cover with lid and let simmer for about 30 minutes. *Note: The longer the chili simmers, the more developed the flavors will be.
5. Spoon chili into bowls and garnish with all the toppings your heart desires!
